Hodgkin-Huxley Model
for one cell


This applet simulates the Hodgkin-Huxley neural model for one cell and is similar to the related Hodgkin-Huxley applet in the Cardiac models section. However, this model also allows representations of phase space to be drawn, in which model different pairs of model variables are used as the plot axes and the trajectory of the membrane potential is drawn as a function of those variables.

To use the applet, click the Start button to initiate the simulation and the Reset button to return the parameters to their initial values. Check the box for each variable to plot it in the window. To see the same plot in phase space, press the phase space button on the right and select the variables to use for the axes.
