Liminal Length and Space and Time Constants

This applet shows how a minium length, called the liminal length, must be stimulated for successful propagation. Liminal length varies as a function of the space constant (lambda) and the time constant (tau) for various stimulus strengths.

The Beeler-Reuter model is used. For more information about the Beeler-Reuter model, see the Beeler-Reuter applet for one cell.
